Hilary C Kennedy (any/all/she) is a dancer, performer, artist, chef, and somatic-based life coach. In all of her work, Hilary weaves together improvisation, embodiment, prayer, and play. ​

Hilary holds a BA in Dance from Colorado College. She trained in Movement Based Expressive Arts Therapy with The Tamalpa Institute, through which program she will become a Registered Somatic Movement Educator & Therapist. Other ongoing certificate trainings include hypnosis through the Divine Feminine School of Hypnosis, and Body Mind Centering®.

Hilary grew up in Brooklyn, NY, where she started her life as a dancer at age 4 in tap shoes. They have been working / training in the fields of experimental and contemporary dance since 2008. Her initial teachers into this world were HIJACK. Other core teachers include Deborah Hay, Anna Halprin, Margit Galanter, Keith Hennessey, Sara Shelton Mann and Lisa Nelson.

Hilary choreographs and performs solo and group dance work. In dance, Hilary is a channel, healer, and sacred clown. Her work seeks to widen the possibilities of expression of the body, gesture, and perception. Through improvisation and performance, Hilary communicates with and works to materialize the invisible. Human collaborators include Hana van der Kolk, mara poliak, Eddy Levin, Margit Galanter, Jo Warren, Nuria Bowart, and Cody Cook-Parrott. Hilary, Hana, mara, and Eddy are members of a dance collective called (Your Little) Ponies, which creates raucous, intimate and collaborative work.

Hilary curates dance workshops, practice spaces, and parties. She hosts events primarily out of Thayer Hill Theater, a dance studio in Western Massachusetts built by Stephen Yoshen where she has been fortunate enough to be a resident artist since 2023. In May of 2026 she will produce Deer Hill Dance Festival, a 10 day dance festival with teachers Benoît Lachambre and Margit Galanter.

Hilary offers one-on-one counseling sessions. Their sessions utilize modalities such as Expressive Arts Therapy, dream work, embodiment, and meditation.

​

Hilary's spiritual landscape is informed by a Catholic upbringing, study of Goddess worship cultures, and the practice of Buddhism. They have practiced Buddhist and Insight Meditation on retreat at Insight Meditation Society, Vallecitos Mountain Retreat Center, and Spirit Rock Meditation Center where she also worked as a cook.

Hilary worked for 8+ years as a chef. After graduating with honors from Ballymaloe Cookery School in Co. Cork, Ireland, she cooked at Chez Panisse in Berkeley for 3 years. Hilary also cooked in private homes, at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, and for various dance centers like Ponderosa near Berlin and The Field Center in Vermont. Hilary also started their own catering business, Elemental Foods.
